You’ll explore the idyllic Italian countryside, take photos and unearth clues in an attempt to unravel the secrets and mystery of what happened to her - in a visually stunning and deeply immersive psychological thriller, from master developer LKA ( The Town of Light). Set in 1940s era Tuscany, you play as Giulia, investigating the death of your twin sister, Martha, as the ominous presence of World War II draws ever closer. We knew from the very start that Martha Is Dead’s tense, dark, emotional tale of love and loss, was such a game. There are some good ideas here that deserved to be in a better game, but as it stands right now, Martha is Dead is a frustrating experience that fails to do justice to those ideas.Every now and then a game comes along that takes your breath away. The setting is beautiful and lovingly crafted, but actually playing the game often feels like a chore for one reason or the other. The narrative premise is unique and makes its distinct elements work together surprisingly well, but it’s pacing might very well turn you away if you don’t have the patience (or inclination) to stick with it. Thoughts- Martha Is Dead has a lot going for it, but it often gets in its own way. ![]() ![]() I am waiting for the game to pick up the pace but it never seems too. It feels so slow-paced even for an atmospheric horror game. ![]() There are weird moments in the game and sections that just are not fun or scary and feel pointless. One of the best looking indie horror games that I have seen in years. The setting feels really authentic and immerses me in it's world. The setting feels really Good- The narrative's premise and the story it sets up is one of the most inriguing I have played in years.
